    Information on Electronic Voting Process

Voting will be conducted anonymously using the polling capabilities of our membership management program, Wild Apricot.

We will be following our Election Policy as closely as we can, first voting for President, then Vice Pres, followed by Secretary and Treasurer. Each one of these positions will be a separate poll about one week apart. The remaining 5 Directors at Large will be voted on at once as per our normal procedure. Please note that you must be 18 years old or older on the day of voting in order to vote.

Voting is secret and confidential by the root programming of the poll/voting functionality in the Wild Apricot system.

If you wish to run for a position on the board, you need to send an email to info@scrgc.ca from your email address on file, announcing your consent (self nomination) to run. Only those people who send in consents will be included on the ballot.

    Planned voting schedule:

Voting will commence on Monday Oct 25 with a call for self nominations for President. Members will have 48 hours to email a self nomination to info@scrgc.ca

If there is only one candidate, the position will be filled by acclamation and the voting will immediately proceed to the next position. If there are two or more candidates, then a voting poll will be sent to the members.

Members will be given 72 hours to vote.

An email will then be sent out with results of vote and a call for self nominations next position.

Voting will be conducted in the following order:

    1.     President

    2.     Vice-President

    3.     Treasurer

    4.     Secretary

    5.     Five Directors

Please note that you must have your email address entered in the SCRGC system and your preferences set to receive emails otherwise you will not receive notices and polling calls. You can do this httin your profile on the website.

It is possible for these emails to end up in your junk mail so if you do not see SCRGC emails on the dates noted please check your junk mail.

    Hello members!

One of our members found an ammo box with ammunition at the Pinecone Range at the beginning of September and would like to return it to its owner.

If you think this may belong to you, please send a description of the items to info@scrgc.ca

    Thank you.

    Hello members!

A reminder that in order to receive email regarding the upcoming electronic AGM, including voting, you must have a working email address in your profile, and allow email to come to you from the Club. Many members do not have an email address in their profile, so please check if you are unsure if you do or not.

    Thanks!

Residents living near the clubhouse and lower ranges have recently submitted complaints of hearing pistol, shotgun and centrefire rifle shooting multiple evenings between 7:30 pm and dark.

This range is closed at 6 pm. Neither shotgun nor centrefire rifle use is permitted. Security video footage is under review and disciplinary measures will be considered as per Club Bylaws.

It is critical for all members to understand and comply with the SCRGC Rules and Regulations and the Orientation and Firearms Safety Handout.

    Call for Volunteers

Please email info@scrgc.ca if you are able to commit to helping get the lower ranges cleaned up this Sunday.

This is NOT an event or a gathering and everyone MUST maintain a distance.

    Equipment to bring:

    • Gloves, clippers, string trimmers/whipper snippers, pruning shears, rakes, wheel barrows.
    • Your own snacks & water
    • Need a pickup or a trailer
      • transport wood to pinecone for campfire
      • Green waste disposal
☆ No mowers required this weekend

    Work to be completed:
    • remove any rocks from areas to be mowed
    • remove any junk wood, pallets etc and take them to the upper range for campfire. [This includes the fence that has fallen flat by the kitchen and the berm wood on the 88 meter]
    • take down and store the event tent next to the clubhouse
    • trim around the horseshoe boxes
    • trim around the 88 meter utility stake so we do not mow over it
    • remove the rocks and wood adjacent to the upper trap house
    • trim any fence lines so mowing can get as close as possible

     HAVE FUN

Club will provide cooler of water and pop, if we have a reasonable volunteer commitment.

Since November 1st 2020, our members have had the opportunity to apply and renew their 2021 memberships. Unfortunately COVID protocols have made it that our membership cards and keys be mailed out and not issued in person at the clubhouse.

It was noticed that our local mail delivery in the Sechelt and surrounding areas was slower than usual as our post offices were overwhelmed with Christmas and high amount of parcel deliveries.  Speaking to the Post Office supervisor, it has been determined that our local mail has a  3-6 weeks delay of delivery.

Please note that your cards and keys are been mailed out  as quickly as possible upon receiving your membership renewal whether online or on paper.

It is asked that your be patient with the postal service as you will receive your cards and keys as soon as possible.

    Thankyou

    Trish Dobson

    Secretary/Membership Coordinator

FYI - The SCRGC has been granted an extension on the 2020 AGM. It must be held on or before November 1, 2021.

The Board will continue to monitor the pandemic and will schedule an AGM as soon as it is safe to gather the membership for a meeting.

March 11th 2021: Orientations are been conducted based upon the new PHO. Members who are requesting orientation need to reserve a spot to help maintain the small groups in compliance with the PHO. Other group activities such as steel target shooting are offered on a basis of the current PHO protocols and MUST have a designated RSO.  The Indoor range is still open to only two persons at a time but you must adhere to all COVID protocols, masks,  wash hands and wipe down surfaces that you touch.
