Information on Electronic Voting Process
Voting will be conducted anonymously using the polling capabilities of our membership management program, Wild Apricot.
We will be following our Election Policy as closely as we can, first voting for President, then Vice Pres, followed by Secretary and Treasurer. Each one of these positions will be a separate poll about one week apart. The remaining 5 Directors at Large will be voted on at once as per our normal procedure. Please note that you must be 18 years old or older on the day of voting in order to vote.
Voting is secret and confidential by the root programming of the poll/voting functionality in the Wild Apricot system.
If you wish to run for a position on the board, you need to send an email to info@scrgc.ca from your email address on file, announcing your consent (self nomination) to run. Only those people who send in consents will be included on the ballot.
Planned voting schedule:
Voting will commence on Monday Oct 25 with a call for self nominations for President. Members will have 48 hours to email a self nomination to info@scrgc.ca
If there is only one candidate, the position will be filled by acclamation and the voting will immediately proceed to the next position. If there are two or more candidates, then a voting poll will be sent to the members.
Members will be given 72 hours to vote.
An email will then be sent out with results of vote and a call for self nominations next position.
Voting will be conducted in the following order:
1. President
2. Vice-President
3. Treasurer
4. Secretary
5. Five Directors
Please note that you must have your email address entered in the SCRGC system and your preferences set to receive emails otherwise you will not receive notices and polling calls. You can do this httin your profile on the website.
It is possible for these emails to end up in your junk mail so if you do not see SCRGC emails on the dates noted please check your junk mail.
